Up and Down Day
Movement for 8/26/08:
- She resisted awakening, this morning, but she always does when she gets less than 12 hours. I teased her about this. It didn't seem to affect her movement, though. She stood so well in the bathroom for groin washing that I mentioned it to her, twice. I even found myself commenting on how well she walked from the bathroom to the dinette. Long nap, today, though, mainly because I took a long nap. When I stumbled into her room to check on her after my own nap, she was sitting up on her bed with her hand on her night stand, looking as though she was considering standing up. She was iffy on her her knees, though; so iffy that I insisted that we wheel her into the living room, and she didn't resist. I checked her blood sugar but it wasn't too low. I'm a little concerned that her hemoglobin may be dropping; I don't think it's pneumonia, this time, and its not her blood sugar. I'll report later on how she does at bedtime.
Faulty Memory Again: Mine
Movement for 8/25/08:
- I remember that we didn't use the wheel chair at all. I remember that her nap was a little shorter than normal, about one and a half hours, which means she was feeling especially good. I remember her normal movement, walking and walkering, all day long. In The Dailies I reported that I gave her 325 mg acetaminophen because she looked more tired than usual, although she wasn't complaining of pain. I remember that she felt good in the evening and didn't complain about going to bed "early" in order to be easier to awaken around 1100 today to prepare for the nurse's visit. Other than that, this day is a blur. No memory is good news, I think.

Off Day
Movement for 8/24/08:
- Mom's been feeling a little "off" today (so have I). When I attempted to rouse her at her 12 hour sleep mark, she asked for "another hour". I didn't argue. At 1400 she was easily roused but very slow to get moving. Surprisingly, we didn't use the wheel chair, although I offered it each time she needed to move from one place to another. She didn't complain about stiffness, but I didn't ask.
- One her way into the bathroom for her nap, at the bathroom door, she feinted and said, "Oooh!" It seems she experienced some "moderate" pain in her upper thighs at the hip joints just at that moment. It seemed to clear up almost immediately, but I gave her 325 mg acetaminophen. I thought that would relax her during her nap.
Iffy Morning, Good Evening
Movement for 8/23/08:
- Although she made it to the dinette without being wheeled, she was slow and iffy and I must have mentioned at least three times that I had the wheel chair handy, but she refused to sit in it. She didn't have much energy and, frankly, looked, the entire morning, as she usually looks when I know she's ready for a nap. She made it into the living room on her own, though.
- I let her go for three hours napping. When she awoke she said, "I can't remember feeling this good in a long time." I'm not sure what the difference was. It isn't like she's been going without sleep. But she was perky and easy on her feet. In the bathroom, her right knee started giving her trouble, so I suggested the wheel chair, for which she opted, but it wasn't for a lack of energy. She headed into bed on her own, stood for an unusually long tooth brushing, and, as I was winding up her oxygen cord so she wouldn't trip over it, made it from her bedroom door to her bed without my usual helping hand. I cautioned her to stop and wait, but she said, "Oh, I think I can do this on my own, all right." And, she did.
